THE SCARY FISHY

Hello Gang I am happy to report I survived the "Gall Bladder" posting and I'm back at it again. This post is dedicatied to my dear wife, Honey how soon you forget. Now that I am out of school I will have PLENTY of time to post exciting and hillarious videos/photos of you on your blog. So in retalliation to the "Pathetic start to the summer" article here is a video of you that you didn't know I took remember how you were posing for a "still photo" no I was recording. HAHAHA Sorry folk no sound on this one, but it is funny to watch! This is a fishing trip about 2 years ago, Amber caught a fish and was scared to get it off the hook.

Robin's First Official Day of Summer: PATHETIC

Robin's first official day of summer started today. He has the rest of this month and July off before he has to start back to school. Of all the things he could have done on his first day of summer he chose to wash the squad truck at the fire station. I know pathetic isn't it.
He wasn't to thrilled with this prospect either, but seeing as how Rob decided to divulge to the world I had to have surgery, it isn't any surprise that I really couldn't handle going much further than the fire station with him. Sorry Sweetie, but thanks for hangin in there with me. Aside from being a little tender in the stomache area I am doing great. And I am taking much bliss and satisfaction in the taste of food. I braved a piece of chocolate cake yesterday and it was delicious. I forget what I had been missing the last three months living on cereal and bread. I am looking forward to experiencing many more tasty treats in the future with confidence that I won't be spilling my guts shortly after. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes while I was down and out. Also thank you to everyone who took on an Amber babysitting shift while I was down and out. I am so grateful to have so many that love and support me. A special Thanks to you Rob even though you did post those pics on the internet for the world to see I am grateful to have had you there, he was a great nurse and catered to every whimper, whine and request that I have had for the past week. Love you Babe!!

GALL BLADDER

Well Amber is going to be quit mad that I posted these, but while she is incompasitated (on pain meds) I thought I would share some of her Gall Bladder removal surgery. I figure she will be mad, but it is for the good of the BLOG!!
This is what I call the "Hurry up and Wait factor" The surgical center has you come so bloody early (Hurry up and get to the surgical center) and then you get to sit around and build up some good ole anxiety! nice huh. Amber actually did a great job, she wasn't too worked up about the surgery. She was very worked up that I was snappin' pics for the blog though. Yikes I got the stink eye more than once!
Here is a snap shot of Momma Sorenson anxiously awaiting the arrival of her daughter back from surgery. (doesn't dinner look good?) Well I dare not post any of the post op pics for fear of my life, however I can tell you Amber seems to be doing quit well, the surgery was done laproscopicly so it is much less invasive as most surgeries. However I did get to watch a gall bladder removal surgery today on my clinical nursing rotation and DANG Am has every right to be hurting!! It is really intriguing to see the modern medicine technologies that they have out there! Well I just thought I would keep you all infromed of some of lifes curve balls that have been thrown at us. As this is more than likely be my last post because I'm afraid I will be banned from posting on the blog in the future. I would like to thank all the blog readers out there for supporting our blog.

Kickin off Summer in Style

It has been a couple of weeks since I last updated our blog. So here is a quick run through of what we have been doing this summer. I finished teaching school on June 3 and yes I am bored out of my mind already. Can't wait to start teaching again! Robin has one more week of school before his one month summer break and he is pretty excited about that.
A couple weekends ago we went camping in the Uintahs with some friends. Cody(i.e. Sally Ann)and Rachelle Chirstensen, Trenton and Ashley Rawlinson, and of course Robin (i.e.GRAMPS) and myself. I must explain the nicknames that arose during our camping trip. Cody got the name Sally Ann for refusing to touch the worms to bait his hook, and the fish when he caught them. He didn't want to get his hands dirty was his only defense. Robin got that name GRAMPS because he was the first one to go to bed the first night of camping, and well the boys got a real kick out of that. In his defense he had been up since four that morning and he did make it till 10:30. Trenton was lucky enough to escape without a nick name, I am not sure how long that will last, the boys were searching pretty hard for something to call him. Anyway here is a picture of the Three Stuges cutting us some wood, what a sight!
Our camping trip was a lot of fun we spent most of our time fishing and sitting around the fire trying to keep warm. The fishing was good though, we all caught quite a few fish, and I had an all time record for myself six fish in one trip. Alright! It was still pretty cold though especially when the wind blew. There were still ten foot snow drifts in many of the places we traveled to. Here is a picture of the girls freezing in the cold.

This week we also went to dinner with the same crew we went camping with. Cody and Rachelle are leaving this week to move to Oklahoma. Cody got accepted to dental school and they will spend the next four years there while he goes to dental school. We all wish him and Rachelle the best of luck. So, this was like our last HOORAH!! before their departure.

MAN WEEKEND

Robin recently returned from what he and his buddies call "MAN WEEKEND". They go out to the Ranch (Grouse Creek) and spend time shooting each other in wild games of paintball also nicknamed "pain ball". They also ride fourwheelers shoot trap and do all the necessary man stuff while they are away from their families and wives. Check out the videos in the right hand column of Man Weekend.

Happy Mother's Day

To all of the wonderful Mothers and Grandmothers in my life. I just want to tell you how much I love you and appreciate all that you do for Robin and I. What a wonderful blessing it is to have each of you in my life to raise, teach and nurture me. I thank my Father in Heaven every night for the wonderful mothers who have blessed my life. I have been taught so much from each of you, and want to thank you for your wonderful examples. Making choices in my life is easy because I have each of you to look to for council and an example. I only hope that I can be half the mother you all are some day.

Mom, thank you for teaching me that no matter what choices others make in their lives I must continually be there for them to love and support. You have been tha best example to me of how not to pass my own judgement. I love you !!!!

Cathy, thank you for teaching me that continual patience, love and understanding will always get me further in my life. And that I should always be myself. I love you!!!

Grandma, I don't get to spend as much time as I would like to with you! I am hoping that this summer will change that. But Thank you for always having a welcoming and open door. You have taught me that a simple call to check on someone and how things are going in their life can make all the difference. Thank you for keeping track of me and supporting me in all that I do, and thank you for teaching my mom how to be such an awesome mother. I love you!!

Rockin It At the Demo Derby

Every Year I look forward to going to the summer Demolition Derbys in Logan. I think I might even like going to them more than Robin. Call me a Redneck if you will, but it is so fun to pick your favorite car and watch it smash the other cars to smitherines. So you can imagine my excitment when I saw the advertisement for the first one of the year. I called the family and invited them, because everything is a lot more fun with family. The only ones who could break away from their busy schedule was Robin and I, Chuck (dad), Caleb, and Abbi. We got there early so that we would have the perfect seats and waited for the derby to begin. If only I knew how completly heart renching this derby was going to be for me. The only way I can give you the full effect of this stroy is through the pictures. So, grab a tissure and prepare yourself for heartache.

The Derby started at like every other. Regular old beat up cars getting themselves a little more beat up. During the Second heat of cars is when someone decieded to change the regular old car thing by driving in a beautiful Chevlle into the rink. Yeah you heard me a Chevelle, and look at the thing it is in great condition. Now just a little background on this Von and I have always talked about gettinga Chevelle to rebuild together, but just have never came across the right one. Enter this one. I think we could have made this one work Von.Any car that comes into the rink looking so nice and new like this, generally has a target painted on its back, and tonight was no different. The first hit this car took, took off a rear tire, the second did it in. The blue car you see pictured here rolled my Chevelle right on its top. Completely smashing it.
The officials immediately stopped the heat to make sure everyone was okay. The driver was fine and then they rolled the car back up on its right side. This is what the after looked like. It is a cryin shame isn't it.
